Loved Dish in Charlotte NC. Had a really great vibe and atmosphere! They have drink specials daily and a fantastic menu. We shared the sampler plate with deviled eggs, potato puffs, fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese with ritz crackers and homemade potato chips! Everything was delicious. We also had the meatloaf sandwich, the chicken fried steak and the shrimp and grits. Everything was phenomenal but the shrimp and grits were by far the best we’ve had in Charlotte. Will def go back! And a shout out to our server Lee, he was super friendly and quick!!!
This place has hella stepped up their game. The hot honey chicken and waffle was delicious, tender juicy fried chicken and a perfect waffle. Amazing service, we ate on the patio with our dog and they brought him water :) chill atmosphere
Nice quick place to grab good food on a Saturday night in the Queen City. I had a grilled flounder sandwich on a brioche bun with slaw, and tater tots for a side. Total price with a Diet Pepsi was below $18! Service was quick, and our table was handled with care! Will be back!
Food is hot, fresh, and delicious. The portions were more than enough. Did not need any seasoning. The meatloaf and grits was like true comfort food. My tummy felt like it was at home.

Guy Fieri has left his mark on the wall as he has visited the establishment twice. Now, let's talk about the food...comfort food with a twist! They took a comfy food like meatloaf and jazzed it up! It was one of the best I ever had. Wine, beer, and spirits served here to compliment the food. Looking forward to returning to sample some other menu items that were tantalizing. Free deviled eggs and biscuits were offered to accompany the meal.
Some of the best service I have had in Charlotte for 5 years that I've been here. Ciara and Casey make the place feel like home. Nini and nay make he kitchen taste like a cloud and heaven. The fried rice with pot roast is literally out of this world. Don't take my word for it go and taste it. They are always attentive and for a dive bar always equipped to not only handle but have the staff to get things done. I adore this place for making it feel like had somewhere to unwind when I felt the world was against me. So please check it out.
Well, The Dish is ... The Dish, which is a wonderful thing. Despite being on its third owner (I think), it is still a can't miss with health(ier) Southern yummies and good portions. It also continues to have great personalities among the staff, including current waiter Ben, who waited on my guest and me earlier this week. I've already written management to give kudos to Ben, who is not only efficient but nice and charming with his sly wit. The food and Ben are worth the trip!
I love Dish! It’s a Charlotte/Plaza classic. Their menu is diverse and fairly priced, and has a good selection of very delicious vegan/vegetarian options for those who need them. The staff is always very kind and accommodating and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I love the unique decorations on the walls as well. My fiancé and I also ordered late night takeout one night recently and it was well packaged and delicious.
Every bite was satisfying and full of flavor. The food arrived fresh and perfectly cooked, with portions that were very filling. No extra seasoning was needed because everything tasted just right. The meatloaf paired with the grits felt like classic comfort food done right, making the whole meal very enjoyable.
Very under rated place. From the outside, I was a bit skeptical. After being seated, I was a bit more hopefully. The service was very attentive, drinks were delivered quickly and great suggestions were given when I asked about food. Everything tasted and felt homemade. The fried rice with pot roast was FANTASTIC. The pot roast was very tender, bursting with flavor and the rice was the best southern fried rice I've ever had. The chicken and dumplings were spot on just like my granny made. Our key lime pie was a very large serving and also homemade. I highly recommend this spot and will certainly return
